Applications are now officially open for the 2025–2026 edition of the Master’s Program in Data Management and Curation (MDMC), a postgraduate specialization course promoted by Area Science Park and SISSA. The program aims to train a new generation of professionals in advanced data management in line with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).

MDMC is open to graduates holding a bachelor’s, master’s, or equivalent degree who wish to acquire both theoretical and practical skills essential to addressing the challenges of Open Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Governance in research and industry settings. The program, which lasts a total of 10 months and is entirely taught in English, includes 8 weeks of intensive in-person classes in Trieste, a six-month internship at partner labs and institutions, and a final thesis project. The educational approach is characterized by the “FAIR-by-design” methodology, which embeds the practical application of FAIR principles into data planning from the outset, training versatile professionals such as Data Stewards, Data Curators, Data Engineers, and Research Data Managers.

Applications are open from April 29 to June 10, 2025. Admission is based on the evaluation of academic qualifications and, if necessary, an online interview. Significant financial support is available for the most deserving candidates, including full tuition waivers (worth €4,500) and financial grants of up to €3,000.
