Trieste Next and European Researchers’ night are back

The Festival for the Scientific Research “Trieste NeXT” returns in Trieste. Conferences, workshops, talks, open-air activities and many other events will take place from 27 until 29 September in the city centre. This year’s edition is entitled “Big Data, Deep Science. The future of research and man in the age of increased intelligence”. SISSA is a partner of the initiative and will be present with a stand in Piazza dell’Unità (in collaboration with the “Abdus Salam” International Center for Theoretical Physics – ICTP) and other activities. Sharper the European Researchers' Night will even take place on Friday 27, from 4 to 11 pm, the event will focus on the life and passions of researchers. A number of School’s researchers is involved in both the events. Highlights from SISSA are:

Friday 27

10 am: Opening (Piazza Unità, Area Talk. Language: Italian).

Saturday 28

11.30am-12.45pm: “NEUROSCIENZE E INTELLIGENZA ARTIFICIALE”, a talk by Davide Zoccolan (Area Talk Piazza Unità d’Italia. Language: Italian).

4.30pm-5.45pm: VERSO L’ERA DELL’INTELLIGENZA AUMENTATA? Keynote Lecture by Mezard (Miela Theatre. Language: Italian).

Sunday 29

4.30pm-5.45pm: “COSMO E DATI: SFIDE E MISTERI PER IL PROSSIMO DECENNIO” a talk by Carlo Baccigalupi (Area Talk Piazza Unità d’Italia. Language: Italian).

European Researchers’ Night (Friday 27, 4-11pm)

5-7.30pm: “STREET SCIENCE” with Dunia Giomo and Federico Grasselli (City hall arcades - Piazza Unità d’Italia. Language: Italian).

8.30-9.45pm “ECCO A VOI IL MANIFESTO PER LA COMUNICAZIONE DELLA SCIENZA!” in collaboration with Immaginario Scientifico, SISSA Master’s course in Science Communication “F. Prattico” and Trieste University (Area Talk. Language: Italian).

ICTP/SISSA stand (Friday 27-Saturday 28 - Sunday 29)
