On 17th January 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Big Meeting Room on the 7th floor of SISSA will host iNEST Meet&Drink, a networking session followed by a happy hour tailored for doctoral students and researchers. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect, share experiences, and delve into the world of innovation within the iNEST Consortium.
The highlight of the afternoon will be a presentation by two guest speakers – CEOs of successful SISSA start-ups: Andrea Martini from FAST Computing and Enrico Siagri from MATERYS. Their firsthand experiences will shed light on the start-up journey for aspiring innovators.
After their enlightening talks, the event will feature a presentation by the representatives of Cross-Cutting Activity 1 (CC1) and Spoke 9, including Prof. Carlo Bagnoli (CC1 Program Leader), Prof. Andrea Marella (CC1 Scouting Officer), Prof. Gianluigi Rozza (Spoke 9 SISSA representative) and Prof. Giovanni Noselli (CC1 Committee Member for Spoke 9). These experts will provide valuable insights into the ongoing activities of Cross-Cutting Activity 1.
Indeed, iNEST Meet&Drink serves as a reminder that the Call for Startup Early Stage is currently open, offering a prime opportunity for students and researchers to submit their innovative projects. The Call will remain active until 15th February 2024; those who are willing to apply for it are encouraged to contact the Valorisation and Innovation Office, which will provide all the information and necessary instructions concerning the protection and formal internal disclosure of business ideas.
Understanding iNEST and CC1:
iNEST, Interconnected Nord-Est Innovation Ecosystem, is a groundbreaking initiative funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU program, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of University and Research and the ItaliaDomani program. At its core, iNEST aims to rapidly amplify the benefits of digital technologies in key specialization areas across North-Eastern Italy.
Cross-Cutting Activity 1 is dedicated to turning innovative ideas into impactful projects, serving as a collaborative hub for the convergence of research and entrepreneurship. The Pre-Acceleration phase, the initial step of CC1, invites doctoral students, researchers, and pre-seed start-ups to submit their ideas through the iNEST Call for Startup Early Stage.
