e was elected a Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS). The recognition went to the professor Giorgio Parisi winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics. Parisi was instrumental in launching the TWAS-SISSA-Lincei exchange program which offers training opportunities and cooperation visits in laboratories located in Trieste to young scientists from the 'Least Developed Countries' identified by the United Nations.
