Research interests

I am a 2nd year Ph.D. student from Belluno, very close to the Dolomites! :)

Previously, I obtained my BSc degree in physics in Trento, after spending one year at the University of Oslo for the Erasmus project. Later, I obtained my MSc in theoretical and computational physics with a joint program between the University of Trento and SISSA. My Bachelor thesis consisted of a summary of the theoretical and computational framework used for obtaining the first image of a black hole, with a focus on obtaining the shape of the shadow of the Black Hole in the Schwarzschild and Kerr metric using the Hamilton-Jacobi integral approach. In my Master's thesis, I developed an algorithm to determine the committor function, which describes the transition between states in Transition Path Theory. The idea behind the algorithm was to recast the problem from solving a differential equation to a minimization problem, using a constraint similar to the Variational Principle and it was applied against Alanine Dipeptide.

In my free time, I like to define myself as a budding young mountaineer: I love hiking, climbing, and skiing. I'm also in love with chess (despite being very bad at it :( ).
