Dal 2019 Trieste vanta 7400 persone occupate nel polo scientifico. Tutto ciò è possibile anche grazie a un grande lavoro di squadra. I vari enti scientifici (Sissa, Elettra Sincrotrone, Ictp, Icgeb, Ogs, Area fa da contenitore, Inaf, Infn, Twas e Università di Trieste) dialogano in continuazione, fanno rete.
