The Inauguration of the academic year 2016/2017 of the SISSA/ICTP Master in High Performance Computing will be held in the Miramare Campus (via Beirut 4, Trieste) on September the 19th, 2016. 10 Students from all over the world are about to begin their training in Supercomputing.
Supercomputing is an essential tool in modern science. At SISSA it is used to study new nanomaterials using quantum simulation to simulate the structure of the early universe, and it also has many technological applications. It can be used to design the hull of a cruise ship, generate movie special effects or forecast the weather, and these are just a few examples of its enormous potential. High Performance Computing (HPC) is an area in continuous expansion and offers remarkable employment and career prospects. For those interested in this field, MHPC is the ideal choice.
MHPC is organized by the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste and by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, both renowned international research institutions. The Master offers students top-notch faculty from academia and international companies like INTEL, DDN - storage.ed and others. The pedagogical approach focuses on practical aspects, encouraging students to get “hands-on” with real-life professional problem-solving and activities.
