On Wednesday, 16 November 2022, SISSA has celebrated the start of the new academic year. The Opening Ceremony took place in room 128-129 and was the occasion to welcome the School's new students.
Licia Verde, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Barcelona, held the Lectio Magistralis entitled 'Open science: what, why, who and how. An (astro)physicist perspective'.
During the ceremony, the Lutman Prizes were awarded for the best PhD thesis in Mathematics and the best Master's thesis in Science Communication, and the prizes for the best theses in Physics and Neuroscience.
The Opening Ceremony concluded with a musical performance by the 'Giuseppe Tartini' Conservatory of Trieste.
