SISSA dedicates its Main Lecture Hall to Paolo Budinich

The School pays tribute to its recently deceased founder

On May 6, the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) of Trieste will be paying tribute to the physicist and SISSA founder Paolo Budinich, who died last November, by dedicating the School's Main Lecture Hall to him. The ceremony will take place at 12 noon.

"Paolo Budinich's contribution to our School and to the entire 'Trieste City of Science' project is inestimable. Dedicating SISSA Main Lecture Hall to Budinich was not just something that we owed to him but also a deeply felt decision": with these words Guido Martinelli, Director of SISSA, announced the decision to name the Main Lecture Hall, the most important space of SISSA, after Paolo Budinich.

Il 6 maggio La Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) di Trieste renderà omaggio a Paolo Budinich, fisico e fondatore della SISSA, scomparso lo scorso novembre, intitolando a lui l'Aula Magna della Scuola. La cerimonia si svolgerà a partire dalle ore 12.00.

"Il contributo di Paolo Budinich alla nostra Scuola, e a tutta la 'Trieste scientifica', è inestimabile. Dedicare a lui l'Aula Magna della SISSA è un atto dovuto ma soprattutto profondamente sentito": con queste parole Guido Martinelli, Direttore della SISSA ha annunciato la decisione di intitolare l'Aula Magna, lo spazio più importante della Scuola, a Paolo Budinich.
