SISSA director Stefano Ruffo is one of the winners of the SigmaPhi Prize 2017, together with Ralf Metzler and David Mukamel. The SigmaPhi Prize was instituted by the SigmaPhi Conference to honor exceptional achievements in Statistical Physics. Stefano Ruffo is awarded "for his outstanding contributions to the statistical and dynamical behaviour of systems of nonlinear coupled oscillators and with long-range interactions".
The Award ceremony takes place every three years during the opening session of the Conference and each laureate receives a medal and a diploma. Previous winners of the SigmaPhi Prize are: Giorgio Parisi, Itamar Procaccia and Eugene Stanley. The International Conference on Statisthical Physics will take place in Corfu, Greece, from 10 to 14 July.

Il SigmaPhi Prize è stato istituito dalla SigmaPhi Conference per rendere omaggio ai più grandi risultati raggiunti nel campo della fisica statistica. La cerimonia di premiazione si tiene ogni tre anni durante la sessione di apertura della Conferenza e ogni premiato riceve una medaglia e un diploma. Tra i precedenti vincitori del premio vi sono Giorgio Parisi, Itamar Procaccia e Eugene Stanley. La Conferenza Internazionale di Fisica Statistica 2017 avrà luogo a Corfù, Grecia, dal 10 al 14 luglio.
