Students who have just completed the first edition of the Master in High Performance Computing (MHPC) held at SISSA/ICTP last year (and who still have to finish their dissertations) are already starting to work in the field. Now it is time to select candidates for the 2015-2016 academic year: the master’s course has in fact just opened applications, which should be made online at http://www.mhpc.it/apply and will remain open until 6 July 2015.
Even this year, among hundreds of applicants (we’ve already reached 130 in only a few days) the school will select a group of high-profile students to train them with outstanding experts from the academic world and leading international companies (like INTEL and NVIDIA), and then place them in this highly promising field. The novelty this year is that two prizes will be awarded. One will be given to the candidate with the best bachelor’s degree dissertation (the prize will cover the course fees). The second award will be given after completion of the master’s course to the best dissertation, and will cover the costs of attendance at an important international conference in the field of supercomputing.
Gli studenti che da poco hanno concluso l’edizione dell’anno scorso, la prima, del Master in High Performance Computing (MHPC) di SISSA/ICTP (e ancora devono finire la tesi) stanno già iniziando a lavorare nel campo. È giunto ora il momento di selezionare i candidati per l’anno accademico 2015-2016: sono infatti appena iniziate le iscrizioni al master, che si effettuano online dalla pagina http://www.mhpc.it/apply e resteranno aperte fino al 6 luglio 2015.
Anche quest’anno fra centinaia di candidature (siamo a 130 solo nei primi giorni dall’apertura) si selezionerà un gruppo di studenti di alto profilo, per formarli con i massimi esperti provenienti dal mondo accademico e dalle maggiori aziende internazionali (come INTEL e NVIDIA), e inserirli poi in questo settore così promettente. La novità di quest’anno sono due premi. Uno verrà assegnato al candidato con la migliore tesi di laurea triennale (il premio coprirà la retta del master). Il secondo premio andrà, a fine corso, alla migliore tesi di master, e garantirà allo studente la copertura finanziaria per partecipare a una importante conferenza internazionale del settore.
