Scienza e Virgola, the Science and Media Festival is back: books, documentaries, workshops and a theatrical performance to discover Science. The event is organized by SISSA Master in Science Communication "Franco Prattico".
Inauguration of the Trieste Institute for the Theory of Quantum Technologies (TQT) with a special lecture by quantum computing pioneer Ignacio Cirac from the Max-Planck Institut für Quantenoptik, Germany, on “Quantum Simulations and the Difficulty of Solving Quantum Many - Body Systems”.
The global campaign on brain research is back with conferences, round table discussions, science cafés, visits to laboratories and, for the first time, a special radio show.

The science journalist Enrica Battifolgia presents Rita Levi Montalcini's scientific biography (ed. Hoepli 2018) at Lovat Bookshop. SISSA Director Stefano Ruffo and journalist Francesco De Filippo recall with the author the personal and scientific path of the most famous italian female scientist.
The science talent show is back in Trieste for the seventh time. Young scientists have 3 minutes to tell the object of their study, or a scientific topic they are interested in. No slideshows, graphs, videos are allowed: only a fistful of words and communication skills are required to present the charm of scientific research to the public, in an amusing and clear way.
FameLab Trieste will take place on 27 February 2019 from 9 am at Teatro Miela.
Ariella Reggio and Marcela Serli will perform a reading based on the texts written by playwrights Marco Di Stefano and Chiara Boscaro, who took part in the "Artists in residence programme" at SISSA in Autumn 2018. On schedule also a talk by Roberto Canziani entitled “Parole che abitano la scena contemporanea” ("Words living in contemporary scene"). The event will be held in Italian in the foyer of SISSA Main lecture Hall "P. Budinich".

Pino Roveredo has recently visited SISSA, being one of the tutors during the "Residenza di lato" carried out at SISSA within the project "UFO-center of residences, study and participation".
