- Introduction to he 3+1 formalism for numerical relativity (ADM); black hole formation in the null slicing
- Rotating collapse and Kerr black holes; frame dragging
- Basic ideas of accretion onto compact objects
- The Blandford/Znajek mechanism and the launching of relativistic jets
