Former SISSA student awarded by the Italian Astronomical Society

Claudia Mancuso, former SISSA PhD student in Astrophysics now at the Istituto di Radioastronomia of the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) in Bologna, is one of the two winners of the XII edition of the “P. Tacchini” Prize for the best 2016 PhD thesis in Astronomy/Astrophysics.

Her thesis - entitled "Dusty Starforming Galaxies and Supermassive Black Holes at High Redshifts: In situ Coevolution" and supervised by Andrea Lapi and Luigi Danese - was especially appreciated for the original approach and the sound results in a field of high complexity, both theoretical and observational.

The award ceremony took place on Tuesday 12th September in Padoa during the Opening of the LXI Congress of the Italian Astronomical Society.
