The Department of Mathematics (DIMA) is at via Dodecaneso 35, 16146 Genova, in the area called "Valletta Puggia" not far from corso Europa which is the main road which runs through the eastern part of Genoa, from the town centre to Nervi.

Buses
There are regular buses from the main railway stations Brignole and Principe. Just in front of Stazione Brignole, buses which go to Corso Gastaldi are 17, 17/, 17//, 45, 85, 86 ,87. You have to get off bus 17 near Ospedale San Martino (you should ask a passenger to tell you when you are near). If you are on bus 45, 85, 86, 87, these buses leave Corso Gastaldi and enter Via San Martino: you should get off at the second stop on Via San Martino, then walk to the Department (see map )

From Nervi, you may take bus 17 (or 17/), and get off near Ospedale San Martino. A different route is: take bus 15 , get off at the crossing of via Boselli and via Guerrazzi, then walk to Department (see map ).

Bus tickets
You can buy bus tickets at tobacconists', newagents', and at ticket counters outside the main train stations. A ticket is 0,77 euros. It is valid for 90 mins. on buses and trains in the metropolitan area.

There is a shuttle bus (called "Volabus") from Genoa airport to the railway stations of Principe and Brignole (ticket is 2,07 euros). A taxi ride from the airport to downtown is approx. 25 euros; a taxi ride from the airport to Nervi is approx. 30 euros.

Moderno Verdi, Brignole and Sauli hotels are at walking distance (1-3 mins.) from Brignole station.

Astor hotel is located in Nervi : you may take the shuttle bus to Brignole station, then bus 17 to Nervi (more details on the hotel's webpage).
