WORKSHOP ON
QUANTUM FIELD THEORY,
NONCOMMUTATIVE GEOMETRY
AND QUANTUM PROBABILITY

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FOR ADVANCED STUDIES

and

ABDUS SALAM INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR THEORETICAL PHYSICS

TRIESTE, ITALY

MARCH 26-29, 2001

Supported by

The International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, in collaboration with the Universities of Trieste and Udine, and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics,  organizes  a workshop on noncommutative structures (noncommutative geometry and its applications to physics, notably quantum field theory, and quantum probability). The event will take place on March 26 to 29, 2001. Participants are expected to arrive on March 25 and depart on March 30.

The workshop will follow a related

Conference on "Geometric Analysis and Index Theory"

(Trieste, March 19 to 24, 2001).

For information on this conference link to the web page http://iml.univ-mrs.fr/annonces/trieste.html

The International School for Advanced Studies, together with the adjacent Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, is located within the Miramare Castle Natural Park, in a pinewood on the seaside at about 8 km from downtown Trieste.

Format. Each of the following scientists will deliver two lectures:

L. Accardi (Universita' Roma Tor Vergata and Centro Vito Volterra)
A. Connes  (IHES Paris)
B. Dubrovin (SISSA)
D. Kreimer  (IHES Paris)
S.L. Woronowicz (Warsaw University)

Moreover some additional 12 one-hour lectures will be delivered. All lectures will take place in the main lecture hall of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics.

Accommodation. Participants will be accommodated in one of the guest houses of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics. Meals may be taken at the ICTP cafeteria.

Financial Support should be available to cover the local expenses of some 30 participants.

Travel information. For information about travel please link to the SISSA or ICTP web pages http://www.sissa.it or http://www.ictp.trieste.it

Intended participants should fill in the registration form contained in the first circular (click here to download it) and send it WITHIN OCTOBER 15, 2000, possibly by e-mail. An acknowledgement will be sent within a few days. Prospective participants will be informed about the acceptance of their application by November 15, 2000. A second circular with a more detailed scientific programme and information about travel and accommodation will be sent around mid September.
