Admission
Every year the TPP group hires 5/6 students to attend the PhD programme. Students are selected according to a written and oral test, held remotely. Application deadlines, dates and number of available positions are periodically posted on the PhD announcements webpage, where you can also download the application forms. The enrollment of new students at SISSA and the beginning of classes in the Theoretical Particle Physics Curriculum takes place at the beginning of October. The normal duration of the PhD programme is four years, with the possibility of completing it in three years. The initial part of the PhD programme is based on course work which is considered to be an integral and necessary part of the research training (see the Teaching Activity programme of the current academic year).
Application procedure for EU and non-EU citizens
To enter the TPP Ph.D. program all students have to pass an Entrance selection. The exam will be held online and will take place on 20-22 March 2024. The successful candidates will be hired starting next Fall.
In order to be admitted to the Entrance selection, candidates have to apply before the deadline on 4 March 2024 at 1 pm (CET). Admission to the Entrance selection is decided after a screening of academic titles by the exam board. The examination consists of a written test and an interview. The details will be communicated to the admitted candidates by the exam board in due time.
