Statistical Physics @ Trieste blackboard
Research Activities

The faculty and the students of the Statistical Physics Group engage in a theoretical research that spans some of the central topics of the field. The range of our activities includes critical phenomena, Conformal Field Theory and deformations thereof, integrable models and lattice exact solvable models, statistical field theory, cold atom physics, off-equilibrium systems, Casimir effects, quantum disorder systems quantum computation and complex systems. The excitement and quality of the research that is done here creates an exceptional learning environment for students at all levels.

In addition to the 4 faculty members, at any one time there are 3 postdoctoral fellows and several ICTP scientists who are working at the postdoctoral or faculty level. The group supports 22-25 graduate students, who work with the faculty, postdocs and ICTP scientists on problems across the above spectrum of topics.
