Nanoscale Biophysics and BiotechnologY (LINK)

The PhD curriculum in Nanoscale Biophysics and Biotechnology is intended to form young researchers at the multidisciplinary frontier between biology, chemistry, physics and materials science, aiming at the comprehensive understanding of biological processes at the nanoscale.

Current projects are based on the use of Atomic Force Microscopy techniques for the study of properties and reactions of biomolecules, and on the controlled immobilization of biomolecules at the nano-scale to study biorecognition events on surfaces and, more generally, the biophysics of protein-protein interactions at the single molecule level.

Students will receive ad-personam scientific training, tailored to their own scientific background, to acquire a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary knowledge of nano-bio-science.
