The results of the scientific research performed at SISSA are also applied to a wide range of activities and sectors. For this reason SISSA promotes and enhances business areas (spin-off) to apply scientific innovation to the industry.
The process of technology transfer is carried out through spin-off companies. The procedures are regulated by the Statute of the School (art.29) and by the Regulations for the constitution of Spin-off companies of SISSA.

Glance Vision Technologies S.r.l.

Glance Vision Technologies, founded is 2005, is one of SISSA's spin-off companies, dealing with the development and the supply of advanced technology solutions based on Artificial Vision and Machine Learning.
Glance Vision Technologies offers consulting and design services, as well as already implemented technical solutions for companies, research centres, public and private laboratories. This kind of solutions will support or replace human labour in heavy and alienating jobs and they will improve and guarantee the quality of products, the efficiency of processes and the safety of the work environment.
In the last few years the company has created innovative software for automatic generation of trajectories for industrial robots (Casper). Now new solutions in the biomedical sector (ECELLence) and in the pharmacy automation sector (GlMatcher) are being developed.

Lay Line Genomics S.p.A.

LLG is one of SISSA's Spin-off companies, founded in 2001 and working in the health biotechnology sector.

Promoscience S.r.l.

Promoscience is one of SISSA's spin-off companies, founded in 2004 by a team of researchers specialized in design and realisation of web solutions for science communication.
Innovative technology solutions and communication strategies with a high impact on the media make up the offer available to universities, research institutions, science and technology parks and public institutions.
Promoscience has given its contribution to several initiatives financed by the EU Seventh Framework Programme and it has developed a new package of tools and methods to transform innovative ideas into successful proposals, to simplify the scientific and administrative coordination of financed projects and to implement efficient strategies for result dissemination and valorisation.
