Statistical Physics

The Statistical Physics group is engaged in theoretical research spanning some of the central topics of the field. The range of activities includes critical phenomena, conformal field theory and deformations thereof, lattice and field-theoretical integrable models, statistical field theory, cold atom physics, off-equilibrium systems, Casimir effects, quantum disordered systems, quantum computation and complex systems. The variety and quality of the research performed here create an exciting learning environment for students at all levels.

In addition to the 4 faculty members, there are 3 postdoctoral fellows and several ICTP scientists working at the postdoctoral or faculty level. The group supports 22-25 graduate students, who work with the faculty, postdocs and ICTP scientists on problems across the above spectrum of topics.
