The first collaboration of excellence underway

Marcello Porta, Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Tübingen, has recently joined SISSA thanks to the programme for collaborations of excellence for research and education. During this month Porta will be involved in both research and teaching activities within the area of Mathematics. His main interests cover mathematical problems arising from condensed matter physics and many-body quantum mechanics.

The programme for collaborations of excellence is aimed at supporting the presence at SISSA of Italian and foreign scientists of renown scientific and cultural level as well as refugee scientists as visiting professors. The may spend between one month and one year at SISSA and may be involved in research as well as teaching activities. New calls will be launched every four months.
