Parallel processing in neural networks

The parallel processing in small neuronal networks, such as the nervous system of the leech is analysed by using a variety of electrical and optical techniques. New theoretical tools for the understanding of information processing in the brain are also developed. Parallel processing in neuronal cultures of mammalian neurons is analysed also using genomic tools such as DNAchips.
