Blood Transcriptomics of Neurodegenerative diseases
We aim to identify “early” markers of Neurodegenerative Diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s based on differential gene expression in easily obtainable biological samples such as peripheral blood. Patients are identified in the Clinica Neurologica, Ospedale di Cattinara directed by Prof. Gilberto Pizzolato, where samples are collected. This project is supported by ITALTBS, a leading company in the field of medical IT, to integrate electronic patient medical records with genomics data with a grant provided by Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia. Gene expression profile experiments are performed at CF2 of CBM.
