MSC: Mathematics Subject Classification. American Mathematical Society, 2000.

MSC is used to categorize items covered by the two reviewing databases, Mathematical Reviews (MR) and Zentralblatt MATH (Zbl).

PACS: Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme. American Institute of Physics, 2003.

PACS is a classification system for articles published in physics and astronomy. Its hierarchical structure permits consistent application of subject headings to publications in these fields, thus facilitating the creation and searching of relevant subject indexes.
