Geometric Control of Quantum Mechanical Systems

Job Description

Finite dimensional Schrodinger equations driven by external fields can be modeled as bilinear control systems on compact matrix Lie groups. The goal of this project is to use existing and develope new optimal and geometrical control techniques for open loop control of quantum states. An alternative topic is geometric control of open quantum system.

Candidate Requirements & Profile

  • The project is sponsored by the EU-funded Multi-partner Marie Curie Control Training Site., thus candidates have to be EU or affiliated countries citizen.
  • Advanced education (preferably PhD students or recent PhD)
  • Background on nonlinear control or geometric control. Knowledge of control for systems on Lie groups is a plus. Candidates with background in the quantum mechanics of driven Schrodinger equations could be considered.

Duration

Six months to one year.
