The aim of the Workshop is to discuss the status, and perspectives, of
the application of mathematical control theory and robotics in
real--world problems. The workshop inaugurates the beginning of a
new
research activity
in the field of control theory, robotics and
applications inside SISSA in collaboration with Centro ``E.Piaggio''
of the University of Pisa and the Steklov Institute of the Russian
Academy of Sciences.
Engineers and mathematicians working
in control theory and/or robotics are invited to participate.
Plenary talks are presented by the following speakers:

Prospective authors are invited to attend the workshop and
participate with a short talk of 20 minutes.
Students also are warmly invited to participate.
Those interested may send an abstract to Boscain (boscain at sissa.it)
before April, 15. No paper is required for proceedings publication.
The workshop will begin on Sunday and run through Tuesday, 25--27 June

(NCN) Workshop will be held in Paris, June 5--8;
the
14th Int.Symposium on MTNS
will be held in Perpignan (France),
June 19--23.
The Workshop will be held in
SISSA, which is part of a
scientific
campus located near
Miramare Castle, about 6km from downtown
Trieste
and enjoys its rather picturesque setting on the hills facing the
Adriatic sea.
Conference fees:
Registration to the workshop amounts to 100EUR and
should be made in cash at the Workshop location. A social event is
included in the full fee.
For students the reduced registration fee amounts to 50EUR.
Students can also apply for partial support. Requests should be done
in the registration form by April 15.

Accomodation is provided, for those who
require, at the
Galileo Guesthouse and at the
Adriatico Guesthouse which
are located at 5 minutes from SISSA.

How to reach the Galileo Guesthouse:
--arriving by train:
catch bus n. 36 from beside the railway station and get down at the
ICTP, go back passing through two tunnels. Turn on your
left in Via Beirut towards Miramare railway station. Walk straight on
and after the third curve, on the right, you will see the entrance of
the Galileo Guesthouse.
--arriving by plane:
Saita buses run between the Airport and the Bus Terminal (Piazza
Liberta` adjacent to the Rail Station) every day except Sunday. The
buses stop along Strada Costiera only if you hail the driver. Tickets
are sold at the airport.
Alitalia shuttle buses also leave from the airport and stop along Strada
Costiera only if you hail the driver. Tickets are sold in the bus.
Ask the driver for the bus stop of Grignano. Go straight on passing
through two tunnels. Turn on your left in Via Beirut towards Miramare
railway station. Walk along the road and after the third curve, on the
right, you will see the entrance of the Galileo Guesthouse.
