Group Leaders
The Cognitive Neuroscience Sector seeks to recruit 2 independent group leaders as Ricercatori a Tempo Determinato, one to carry out research in Brain and Language and the other in Cognitive Neuroscience of Social Behaviour.
The positions are for 3 years, renewable for 3 more.

As with other faculty members, the new group leaders will be required to
teach limited PhD mini-courses, and to individually supervise the research

Research Positions
The Language, Cognition and Development Lab of the International School of Advanced Studies - SISSA, Trieste, Italy - is offering two positions. The laboratory is directed by Professor Jacques Mehler who just obtained an Advanced Grant from the European Research Council. The grant will be financing the laboratory for the next five years.

- An advanced developmental scientist interested in language acquisition. Experience with very young infants and/or neonates would be desirable as well as Neuroimaging experience using NIRS and ERP.
- An experimental cognitive scientist with experience working with both adults and infants. Her/his interest should be in language and cognition.
Both positions require ability to use one or more of the following tools: Psyscope, MatLab, NIRS, TOBii.
Our laboratory has the state of the art systems to study language acquisition. We test neonates in our laboratory located at a large maternity, and a laboratory to study infants from 2months to 18months of age. Infants are tested with behavioral methods using head turning methods, eye-tracking methods, EEG and ERPs.
