Every year the Astrophysics group hires 5/6 students to attend a three to four years PhD programme of study and research. The students are selected according to their academic record and an oral test.
The entrance examinations for the academic year will be usually set in the middle of April (first session) and in the first weeks of October (second session). For all details and recent updates please refer to the announcement here.

Every year, SISSA offers to students close to their graduation the possibility to work and study at the School's premises and grants scholarships according to their academic curriculum only. The activity will last from one up to twelve months. To the admitted candidates a fellowship of the amount of 500 euros/month will be assigned. A monthly contribution towards living expenses of 300 euros will also be granted to students who are not resident in the Trieste Province. Every year, SISSA offers PhD candidates the possibility to spend a period of time at the school with a fellowship of 1000 euros/month and support for the travel expenses. The Astrophysics curricula at SISSA have openings available for postdoctoral research positions to be filled in Fall.
