An important Prize goes to "Maksimovic. The story of Bruno Pontecorvo"

The movie "Maksimovic. The story of Bruno Pontecorvo" has been awarded the Gran Jury Prize as the Best Scientific Documentary at the International Scientific Film Festival 2014, held in December 2014 in Rome, with the motivations "For the great accuracy and the compelling simplicity in presenting the life of a great protagonist of Science".

Il progetto CommHERE del Laboratorio Interdisciplinare della SISSA presenterà il 1 dicembre 2014, ore 19:30 presso il Teatro Miela di Trieste una replica dello spettacolo di teatro-scienza "Dr Jekyll e Mr AIDS".
Lo spettacolo aprirà la sezione serale della manifestazione "+ o - positivi", un evento che si ripete annualmente per la giornata internazionale dell'AIDS.

Advanced Quantum ESPRESSO Developers’ Training Workshop

In collaboration with the Quantum ESPRESSO Foundation and CECAM, the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy, is organizing an Advanced Quantum ESPRESSO Developers’ Training Workshop, to be held in Trieste from January 19 to January 30, 2015. The activity will immediately follow the XVII International workshop on Computational Physics and Materials Science: Total Energy and Force Methods, to be held at ICTP from January 15 to January 17, 2015.

Artificial cells take their first steps

SISSA participates in the Australian Centre of Excellence for Integrative Brain Function

On 20 August 2014 the Australian Centre of Excellence for Integrative Brain Function (CIBF), funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC), has been hold its official opening. SISSA professor Mathew E. Diamond, who joined the CIBF project in 2013 as one of the 12 international partner investigators, will contribute to the CIBF activity.

A grant from the John Templeton Foundation to Stefano Liberati of SISSA

The research project entitled “Probing the emergent spacetime fabric: from theory to phenomenology” will receive about 269 thousand euros funding from the John Templeton Foundation.
